"We want to make good time, but for us now this is measured with emphasis on "good" rather than "time" and when you make that shift in emphasis the whole approach changes."

Robert M. Pirsig
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence

There are few things that compare to the freedom and exhilaration of riding a motorcycle. When you ride in a car, or a "cage" as  bikers refer to it, you experience the world in the same way as watching television or a movie; you see it, you know its there, but you are not really a part of it. On a motorcycle, you experience the world around you in a whole new way. You become one with your machine and your surroundings, and completely at peace with everything around you.

People often wrongly assume that being a biker means belonging to a renegade band of lawless troublemakers. Other misconceptions include that we are speed demons with little or no regard for others on the road. I urge you to judge us as individuals, not members of a particular stereotype. While there are biker "gangs" of less than model citizens, and there are certainly bikers who drive too fast and weave in and out of traffic, the majority of us are just like the rest of you. We simply enjoy the ride. I personally take my safety very seriously, and most of my fellow riders feel the same way.

My 1988 Vulcan VN750

This is my 1988 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. Check out my Motorcycle Pictures Page for more details.

I have been riding motorcycles since I was pretty young. I started off with minibikes and dirt bikes, riding mostly off road. My first street bike was a 1986 Honda Interceptor 500. This was a really quick little demon.

I currently own four bikes. Two are dirtbikes from my youth, a Suzuki DS125, and a Yamaha GT80. In addition to my Vulcan shown above, I have a 1979 Suzuki GS1000. This is the grandfather of all those racing bikes you see on the road. It was one of the first 4 cylinder muscle bikes. This monster will do 155 mph without breaking a sweat. Honestly, it scares the %$#@& out of my Vulcan. Currently, the bike is being prepared for a full rebuild. I will be showing before and after pictures here on this site during the summer.
