Adam's 100th USS San Diego Dive

This is one of my favorite pictures of myself. The photo was taken in 1991 after surfacing from my 100th dive on the wreck of the USS San Diego, 18 miles east of the Jones Inlet in New York. The wreck lies in 110 feet of water, intact, and upside down. It is a local favorite due to the abundance of Navy Brass artifacts that can be found inside the wreck. Penetration of this wreck is cautioned except for extremely skilled technical wreck divers, due to disorientation, the high risk of silt out, and the possibility of entanglement. Navigation inside the wreck requires extreme care, due to the inverted nature, the signinficant list, and the downward angle from bow to stern. Additional information on the USS San Diego may be found on my Diving Page.

Some of the equipment used on this dive are: Viking Military Dry Suit; Twin 72 cu.ft. steel tanks with Sherwood crossover manifold; 24 cu.ft. steel pony bottle; Sherwood Oasis primary regulator first and second stages, with Dacor Pressure guage and console with the Dacor Pro Brain Dive Computer (Primary Guages);  US Divers pony regulator first and second stages, with Sherwood guage console including main pressure guage, depth guage, and Tekna Bottom timer (Pony Guages); TUSA Liberator BCD, highly modified; Underwater Kinetics 1200R Primary light; Underwater Kinetics 600R backup light; Pelican SabreLight backup light; Dive Rite Wreck Reel; Carter 50lb and 100lb lift bags; Other various general use and special purpose diving equipment.
